For many years dating back to the 1900s, Dedham has been known as the place to hire a Rowing Boat. We have carried on that tradition and have 26 Clinker built Rowing Boats all for hire from 30 minutes to an hour or more for a leisurely row along the River Stour. Flatford Mill, the Mill made famous by John Constable is just a mile and a half row along the river if you are feeling energetic. For those of you that would prefer an Ice Cream, drink or snack our kiosk is the ideal option with outside seating available. Boat hire is available Tuesday toSunday every week + Bank Holiday Mondays.
Partnering with Cool Pedals we can offer a wide selection of 30 different cycling tours, from 1 to 8 nights duration, catering for all cycling levels from tentative beginners to energetic offroad trail riders. Tours are self-guided using our innovative, highly flexible, holiday route guides. Our daily luggage transfer service lets you travel light on your bike. We can organise all your overnight accommodation bookings, and provide excellent quality hire bikes (unless to prefer to bring your own, and receive a price discount).
Partnering with Zenith Kiting we can offer tuition and tours on the River Stour in Dedham flowing through old English countryside of Essex and Suffolk.

Zenith’s BSUPA 2 hour lesson starts in the boating pool of Dedham opposite the popular Boat House restaurant. This area of glassy flat conditions offers a perfect place for your first experience on a SUP board. Once you have a feeling for the board we will then start to paddle towards the historic hamlet of Flatford Mill.

Frinton-on-Sea is dog friendly from September to May and quick 30-minute drive. Neighbouring Walton-on-the-Naze is also really lovely.
Aldeburgh is just an hour away and a wonderful mix of family fun, music and drama, fine eating and drinking, sailing and shopping - something for everyone in the friendliest atmosphere you'll wish to find on the Suffolk Heritage Coast.
Southwold beach is just a bit further on and definitely worth the drive. Southwold is a charming north Suffolk seaside town on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Almost an island, being bounded by the North Sea to the East, by the River Blyth and Southwold harbour to the South–West and by Buss Creek to the North, there is just the one road in to and out of Southwold, approached through neighbouring Reydon.
